
Lo Mein
A delicious and easy Chinese noodle stir-fry with tender meat, crunchy vegetables, and a flavorful soy sauce-based seasoning.

Ingredients
- 4 cups cooked Chinese noodles or very thin spaghetti, rinsed and drained
- 12 oz. diced cooked meat beef, chicken, or pork
- 1 package frozen French-style green beans thawed
- 2 cups fresh bean sprouts
- 3 scallions chopped
- 1 slice ginger shredded
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon MSG Accent (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons sherry
Instructions
- Prepare the Sauce:
- In a small bowl, mix MSG (if using), sugar, and soy sauce. Set aside.
- Cook the Vegetables:
- Heat a wok or pan until hot and dry.
- Add 3 tablespoons vegetable oil and all the sesame oil.
- Add ginger and garlic, stir-frying until aromatic.
- Add green beans, bean sprouts, and scallions. Stir-fry for 1 minute over high heat.
- Pour in sherry, cover, and cook for 1 more minute.
- Remove vegetables, drain, and set aside.
- Cook the Noodles:
- Heat the wok again and add the remaining vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Add cooked noodles and stir constantly for 2–3 minutes to coat them with oil.
- Combine & Serve:
- Add cooked meat and reserved vegetables, mixing thoroughly.
- Pour in reserved soy sauce mixture and stir until noodles are evenly coated.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Can substitute tofu or mushrooms for a vegetarian version.
- Try adding carrots, bell peppers, or cabbage for extra crunch.
