Chef chat

Chef is a secondary assistant. Your library and imports come first; Chef helps when you want ideas or swaps.

Start a chat

• Mobile: Chef tab. Try suggestion chips (meal idea, meal planning, help), or type freely.
• Web: Chef in the nav. Starter prompts are available for common asks.

You can also open Ask Chef from a recipe for questions about that dish. On the web companion, Chef sits beside the recipe when you open one from Library or Discover.

Copy a recipe

When Chef replies with a recipe, choose Copy recipe above Save to library, then paste it into a message or another app. This copies the recipe text, including ingredients, steps and notes. You can copy it before saving it, and the button stays available after saving or updating. Copying does not create a public chat link.

Revise a saved recipe (mobile)

Open Chef from a recipe in your library and ask for a change, such as making it vegan. When Chef returns a revised recipe, the primary action updates your existing copy while keeping its cover and source information. A version is saved first, so Undo or the recipe’s History can restore the earlier recipe.

Choose Save as a new recipe if you want to keep both versions. A Discover recipe you have not saved is context for the conversation; saving a reply creates a library recipe and leaves the public catalog unchanged.

The web companion’s recipe-side Chef currently gives text advice. It does not apply these revisions to the recipe for you.

Attachments (mobile)

Attach an image or text file from the Chef compose menu when you need the model to read something on screen.

History

• Swipe or open the history drawer for past threads
• Pin threads you want to keep handy
