Discover recipes

Browse the public Chef's Kiss recipe index, scale and shop ingredients, cook in the browser, or save recipes to your library.

chefskiss.io/recipes is a public, searchable recipe index. Featured recipes also appear on the homepage.

What you can do

  • Search by title or ingredients
  • Filter by category
  • Open a recipe, scale servings, and switch unit systems
  • Shop ingredients (Amazon search or product links where available)
  • Cook in the browser (step-by-step Cook Mode with timers)
  • Sign in and Add to library so the recipe syncs to your Chef’s Kiss account (same cover image)

You do not need an account to browse, scale, shop, or cook. Adding to your library uses the same sign-in as app.chefskiss.io.

Mobile Discover

Use the Grid / Scroll control beside search to choose a grid or a full-screen recipe feed. Your choice stays on that device. The Scroll feed uses your on-device taste profile and dietary filters to order and narrow the catalog.

Companion Discover tab

On the web companion, open Discover in the nav (app.chefskiss.io/discover). You browse the same public catalog and can switch between the remembered Grid and Scroll views. Clicking a recipe opens it on the same page (recipe plus Chef) instead of leaving the companion. Cmd/Ctrl-click still opens the full page on chefskiss.io. Cook Mode also stays on chefskiss.io.

If you are signed in on the companion, chefskiss.io shows your profile chip instead of Sign in through the companion auth chrome.

Add to library

When you tap Add to library, Chef’s Kiss opens the companion import flow for that catalog recipe. If you are not signed in yet, you land on login first, then the recipe is copied into your personal library with the same shared cover.

Likes

In the mobile app and web companion, Discover recipes have a heart. Tapping it adds your like to one shared, public total: everyone browsing the catalog sees the same number, and it is how we tell which recipes are worth putting in front of more cooks. You need to be signed in, and each person counts once per recipe. Tapping again takes your like back.

A like is not the same as a favourite in your library. Liking a Discover recipe does not add it to your library, does not mark anything as a favourite, and does not change your Home filters. The two are kept separate on purpose: a like is a public vote on the catalog, and a favourite is a private shelf in your own collection. You can like a recipe you have not saved, and save one you have not liked.

The heart is on the Scroll feed (above Save) and on the recipe page itself.

Ask Chef

On Scroll, Ask Chef sits on the action rail under Save. On the recipe page (opened from the grid, or by tapping the photo in Scroll), Ask Chef or Customize sits above Add to my library. Both open Chef with that catalog recipe as context, so you can ask about substitutions, scaling, or a remix. If the recipe is already in your library, Chef talks about your copy. On mobile, Chef can update a recipe you already own, with Undo and History available, or save a new copy. Replies based on an unsaved Discover recipe can be saved as new library recipes. The public catalog stays unchanged. See Chef chat for the mobile revision flow and web differences.

Shop ingredients

Ingredient Shop links open Amazon search (or a product page when one is set). Chef’s Kiss may earn from qualifying purchases as an Amazon Associate. A short disclosure appears on Discover recipe pages and the marketing site footer.

Library limits

Saving a Discover recipe counts like any other recipe create. Free libraries have a recipe cap; Plus and Pro have much higher soft caps (see Plans overview).

Catalog notes

Discover is a curated public catalog, not your personal library. Personal imports (links, photos, files) stay in your library and are separate.

The public catalog is alcohol-free: recipes that use wine, beer, spirits, or similar as ingredients or in the method are not published there. Wine vinegar and everyday cooking language are fine. Your own library imports are not filtered this way.

Web

Browser Cook Mode is available on Discover recipe pages. Live Activity and Apple Watch cook stay on the mobile app.
